The Elk Valley Regional Airport is located
off Highway 43 on Lower Elk Valley Road between Sparwood and Elkford in
Electoral
Area A. The airport is not a commercial facility and although it
is open during the winter months, there is limited winter maintenance.
There is a paved runway; however, because it is not lit, it is intended for day use only. A tie down area has been established and there is a public phone.
The airport is used most frequently by small, private planes and in the summer months has been used by the Forest Service.
