Bylaws

A bylaw is a law, regulation or rule of a local government. Regional Districts get their authority to adopt, amend and repeal bylaws from both the Local Government Act and Community Charter.

A bylaw must be given four readings before it is adopted. A bylaw that does not require approval, consent or assent under the Local Government Act or any other Act before it is adopted may be adopted at the same meeting at which it is given third reading.

The bylaws connected to this page and in other locations on this site are available for your information only. They are not to be considered the official version and you are encouraged to contact the Corporate Services Department to verify the most up to date version.
