Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation

The Local Government Climate Action Program (LGCAP) launched in 2022 to provide predictable, long-term funding for local governments and Modern Treaty Nations to plan and implement climate action that will reduce emissions, create new opportunities for people in the clean economy and prepare communities for future climate impacts. As an eligible local government, the RDEK has opted into the program and completed the 2022 reporting requirements. In the first year reporting requirements included completing an online survey and attestation form. Links to both documents can be found below.
