The vision of the Edgewater Fire Department is to be recognized as a model of excellence in providing protective services to the community. Our firefighters are dedicated to leadership and community involvement.
The Department provides fire and rescue services that enhance public safety and preserve property. Without a dedicated team of volunteers, these services would not be available and we are currently recruiting for new members.
Volunteers receive training and are paid-on-call (which means you receive payment when you attend regularly scheduled practices and respond to alarms). If you are interested in becoming more involved in your community, learning a host of new skills, and receiving valuable training in areas such as structural fire protection, vehicle extrication, wildland / urban interface fire support, hazardous materials response, and technical rescue (such as rope, swift water, ice and more), download our recruitment package, talk to some of the members of the deparment, and make the leap!
