IMPORTANT NOTICE re: EAST SIDE WATER SYSTEM (UPDATED: JULY 9, 2021 6:20pm)
The "no watering of lawns" request is being rescinded early next week. Stringent watering restrictions will be in place for the East Side Lake Windermere Water System effective July 13 until further notice. East Side Water System customers will be allowed to water their lawns and gardens one day per week from 6am to 10am OR 7pm-11pm for manual sprinklers and 3am-7am for automatic sprinklers as follows:
Please be sure automatic sprinklers are reprogrammed to the new one-day-per-week restriction. The East Side Water Service Area includes the communities of Windermere, Timber Ridge, Timber Heights, Baltac, Akiskinook, Calberley Beach, Swansea, Pedley Heights and East Side.
East Side Lake Windermere’s water is drawn from Lake Windermere and pumped from the Baltac Pumping Station to the East Side Lake Windermere Water Treatment Plant (WTP) located on Windermere Loop Road. It passes though the coagulation, flocculation, settling and filtration treatment stages and the filtered water is then disinfected using UV and chlorine before being fed to the reservoir and distribution system. The entire process is monitored via Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) instrumentation and auto-dialer alarms as well as being verified and documented by operators daily.
