Moyie Water System

The Moyie Water System receives its groundwater from a well 57 meters deep. Water is pumped from the well using a 15 horsepower well pump up to a 320m3 reservoir which maintains the pressure in the distribution system. The water is not chlorinated. RDEK operators are on site 2-3 times per week to ensure proper operation and perform monthly bacteriological sampling. The pump house is also outfitted with automatic alarm dialers to alert staff when regular functions are compromised.
