Yaqakxaqⱡamki Regional Park (Koocanusa Boat Launch) opened on July 1, 2011. The launch was built through funding from Teck. BC Hydro and the Columbia Basin Trust. The boat launch season opening and closure dates vary depending on water levels. Koocanusa Boat Launch is located on the north side of Kikomun Newgate Road; on the west side of Koocanusa Lake.
Amenities include: boat launch with floating docks, parking for vehicles with trailers, overflow parking for vehicles with no trailers and wheelchair accessible outhouse facilities.
Seasonal operation (typically from June to October) 7:00am - 10:00pm daily (gates are locked overnight)
All User fees collected go directly back into the operation and maintenance of the facility.
Season Passes (Resident and Non-Resident)
A Season Pass allows the holder to launch and retrieve one watercraft from the ramp and to park one towing vehicle and one boat trailer in the Parking Area per day during the season, provided parking space is available.

Seasons Passes can be purchased one of two ways:
1. RDEK Cranbrook Office
To obtain a Season Pass, send a completed Boat Launch Registration form by mail with a cheque or money order, along with proof of residency or property ownership to:

Once payment has been processed a Season’s Pass will be mailed.

Once the application has been received, the Environmental Services Assistant will provide a Season’s Pass Number and amount owing. The applicant can then pay with a credit card over the phone by calling the RDEK Cranbrook office at 250-489-2791 and reference the Season’s Pass Number. The Environmental Service Secretary will then email a scanned copy of the receipt and mail out the Season’s Pass once payment has been processed.
2. On Site
Season’s Passes can be purchased on site by credit card or debit tap from our on-site contractor.
