History

This 2.4 km trail along Jaffray-Baynes Lake Road has been constructed in memory of a young Jaffray boy who was killed in a tragic collision.
The trail begins in the community of Jaffray and parallels the east side of Jaffray-Baynes Lake Road until it reaches Sand Creek. Designated for walkers and cyclists, it provides a safe alternative route.

Location

North Trail Head

Turn south off Highway 3/93 onto Jaffray Baynes Lake Road. Travel 800 meters. (you will need to cross the railway tracks.)

South Trail Head

Turn south off Highway 3/93 onto Jaffray Banes Lake Road. Travel 2.5 km. (The south trail head is 1.7 km away from the north on Jaffray Baynes Lake Road.)

Amenities

There is limited parking on the shoulders of the road. The path serves primarily as an alternate route for local pedestrians. 

Seasonal Hours

This path is maintained from spring to fall annually. 

Trail Etiquette
  • No alcohol or cannabis
  • Keep pets on leash and clean up after them
  • Park in a manner that doesn’t restrict road or property access
  • Pack out all garbage with you
