History

Elk Valley Regional Park is located along the east side of Highway 43, between Sparwood and Elkford. Nestled amongst the Rocky Mountains, the park is a great place for a family picnic, a barbeque with friends or a baseball game. 

Location

Civic Address: 4420 Highway 43
From Highway 43 north from Sparwood on Highway 43, follow the Highway for 22 km. You will see a sign for Elk Valley Regional Park. Turn right and in 100 m you will reach the park gate.

Seasonal Hours

This park is maintained from spring to fall annually. This park is day use only (Dawn to Dusk) and is not maintained in winter.

Amenities

The amenities at Elk Valley Regional Park include parking, several picnic areas, a picnic shelter, hiking trails, fire pits, baseball diamond, sports fields, horseshoe and bocce pits and wheelchair accessible outhouse facilities.

This park does not take reservation. All sites are first come first serve.

Park Etiquette
  • No alcohol or cannabis
  • Keep pets on leash and clean up after them
  • Limit your stay to daylight hours only (no overnight camping)
  • Park in a manner that doesn’t restrict road or property access
  • Pack out all garbage with you
  • Open fires are allowable in the designated fire pits (please bring your own firewood)
