Wildfire Updates (provided by BC Wildfire Service) Updated 12:00pm, September 14, 2020
Doctor Creek (N21257) - 25 km Southwest of Canal Flats.
There is a Smoky Skies bulletin for the East Kootenay - primarily due to large fires in the US that are blanketing BC in smoke. Sunday will likely be the most smoke affected day. Localized smoke from the Doctor Creek will also be present, particularly in the mornings due to cooler overnight temperatures pushing the smoke into the valley bottom.
Emergency Numbers to call:
During large-scale emergencies, the East Kootenay Emergency Information Line is activated. The numbers will be posted on this page, on the RDEK's social media pages, and in the local media when the line is activated.
