Timber Ridge Water System

APRIL 27, 2023 - The RDEK has issued a precautionary Water Quality Advisory for Timber Ridge Phase 1 and recommends that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems, and anyone seeking additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice. For these at-risk populations, water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute.  The Water Quality Advisory will remain in place for several days while we work to complete some final tie-ins on the Timber Ridge Watermain Replacement Project.  We will advise the public on this website and via the Timber Ridge email group when the Water Quality Advisory has been lifted.

General Water System Information

Timber Ridge has a bulk water connection from Parr Utilities Water Treatment Plant where raw water from Lake Windermere is brought to IHA standards that conform to 4-3-2-1-0 treatment objectives.  The RDEK operates a reservoir and pump house (Phase 3 Pump House) within Timber Ridge to deliver sufficient pressures. The pump station also provides a point for the RDEK to monitor water quality through chlorine and turbidity level analysis and a location for automatic alarm dialers to alert staff of any problems with the system.
