Small Brush Fire Extinguished in Windermere Area

Members of the Windermere Fire Department responded to a small fire in a forested area in the Juniper Heights area this afternoon.

“The fire was small and confined to an area in and around a tree. Our crew quickly got it contained and extinguished before it had a chance to spread,” explains Columbia Valley Rural Fire and Rescue Service Assistant Chief Thomas Dobbin. 

In total 8 members from the Windermere Fire Department responded to the call with three pieces of apparatus. Fire crews remained on scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. 

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and is under investigation.
