Members of the Panorama Fire Department remain on scene following a single-unit fire in Taynton Lodge in Panorama this morning.
“We had 14 firefighters and all four trucks respond to the call and the crew was able to keep the fire contained to the single unit,” says Columbia Valley Rural Fire and Rescue Service Chief, Jim MIller. “The quick action of our crew made the difference between an isolated fire and a potentially much larger situation. They did an outstanding job.”
The fire was confined to the vacant unit and has been completely extinguished. The Lodge did not have full occupancy and was evacuated as a precaution. The building has now been ventilated all occupants are able to return to their suites.
There were no injuries in the blaze and the focus has now turned to the investigation to determine the exact cause.
